HONESDALE, PA, March 19, 2010—Wayne Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO) will host their Annual Meeting & Dinner on Thursday, April 15, at Bryn Mawr Conference Center in Honesdale. Mr. Eugene (Gene) Linscomb, Business Manager – Global Exploration New Venture and Unconventional Resources for Hess Corporation, will deliver the keynote address.
The Annual Meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a complimentary social hour, including hors d’oeuvres and a jazz ensemble. A buffet dinner will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Linscomb accepted his current position at Hess Corporation in March 2008. His focus has been international licensing and emerging domestic unconventional resource plays.

Born in Houston, TX, Mr. Linscomb joined the US Navy in 1977 and was accepted into the US Naval Nuclear Power School in Orlando, FL. After graduation, he attended the US Naval Nuclear Prototype School in Idaho Falls, ID, before being assigned to the Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine USS George Washington Carver SSBN 656, in the Reactor Controls Division.
After his honorable discharge in 1983, Mr. Linscomb attended the University of Texas, at Austin, graduating in 1986 with a Bachelor of Business in Petroleum Land Management. He went to work for Exxon and was assigned to the Western Exploration Division and was eventually involved in the creation of Exxon’s Offshore Production Division concentrating on offshore Gulf of Mexico Assets.
In 1994, Mr. Linscomb moved to Alaska to work for the Dept. of Transportation and Public Facilities as a Right of Way Auditor.
In 1998, he accepted the position of Land Manager at Continental Land and Fur Company, the third largest private landowner in Louisiana, and Oil and Gas producer primarily in the Gulf of Mexico. During his tenure, he was responsible for all of Continental’s land operations in the Gulf of Mexico. Prior to joining Hess Corporation, he held the position as Senior Staff Landman, for Apache Corporation, a large independent also working the Gulf of Mexico.
